Fast Growth Isn’t Just for Start-ups
One year ago, on May 3rd, my daughter took her first breath.
Two months ago, she took her first steps.
And just like that, everything sped up.
This past year — and especially these past few months — have shown me something that my clients (leaders like you, in fast-growth environments) experience too:
When growth accelerates, emotions run high.
When emotions run high, conversations become either your biggest catalyst — or your biggest bottleneck.
Motherhood, like leadership, demands hard conversations at every turn.
With yourself. With your partner. With your family. With your team.
And if you don’t know how to navigate them well, they compound — fast.
I’ve had to have conversations with myself:
Am I following what feels right for our family — or following the crowd?
How are my actions and inactions teaching my daughter what self care and self love looks like?
I’ve had to have conversations with my partner:
What does support actually look like for me right now?
How do we want to parent, not just survive?
How does our relationship evolve when life speeds up?
I’ve had to have conversations with my daughter:
How do I name and normalize her emotions without rushing to fix or judge them?
How do I stay calm when she’s not — so her nervous system learns calm through mine?
And all of it — every step, every decision, every messy, beautiful, emotional moment — is faster and more intense now.
Because walking isn’t just walking.
It’s running.
It’s reaching.
It’s falling and getting up again.
It’s wanting more independence, more connection, more everything…
Just like startups when they hit a tipping point:
The needs multiply.
The stakes feel higher.
The margin for error feels smaller.
Everything speeds up.
And the ability to slow down enough to have a productive conversation becomes the difference between scaling successfully — or spinning out.
BRAVE® wasn’t just built for boardrooms.
It was built for the real, human moments where leadership is forged. Those come in all shapes and sizes — in moments when you’re ready for them and also when you feel completely unprepared.
It’s why this past year, in my home, our framework hasn’t been a nice-to-have.
It’s been a survival tool.
It’s been a sanity tool.
It’s been a growth tool.
For my family.
For my relationship.
For myself.
And by extension, for my work and the companies I serve.
If you’re leading a fast-growing startup — or a fast-growing human — the hard conversations aren’t distractions from growth.
They ARE growth.
And we all need tools for that growth.
Remember, whatever it is you’re building can only grow as fast as you, the leader, grows.
So are you seeking tools or trying to wing it?
We never outgrow the need to grow.
BRAVE gives you the language to lead through it — instead of getting buried by it.
Because in the moments where everything speeds up, when emotions run high and decisions collide…
How you respond matters more than ever.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
Thank you for choosing to grow — bravely.
I am so grateful to serve leaders and families like you and yours.
Bravely,
Elisabeth
